A table runner

I found this zebra print cotton fabric while shop for satin and loved it. So I had to buy one meter of it. And it was perfect match for my glass topped table. So a table runner …

For this very very simple pattern cut a piece of fabric twice as wide as desired width for finished runner and long as you wish with half a inch seam allowance each side. I skipped the two types of fabrics.

Then followed her instructions up to sewing the ends together. I sewed the ends together from opposite side of what she has shown and turned again opposite side of what she said.

It was super easy and thank you deckthehalls-christmas.blogspot.com for great instructions.

A view which display our main crops.

This is the view from back of my home. The foreground has TEA, the middle has PADDY and those tall trees beyond the paddy field are RUBBER. Those are our main crops which supply foreign exchange and food for the country. And very beautiful view they make… And it was a cloudy day and tree tops are covered from a thin veil of water vapor.

A sewing machine cover.

This is a simple design and easy to sew cover.

I got the idea from a bag pattern.
Cut the inner, outer fabrics and padding (Optional) according to the size of the sewing machine using this pattern.  I used ½ meter of each fabric and padding.

Quilt the sandwich to your liking and bind only the top and bottom sides.
Sew the sides first then sew the edge from inner side like this.

Then turn the right side and cover the machine.

This time of year is little late for fruit season in Sri Lanka. But we are great full for even a late fruit season than not having one.
These called ‘Rambutan’ in native language. The tree is large. This is a pinkish yellow variety and there are red varieties too. th

These called ‘Gadigudan’ in native language. This tree is also large. People have to climb the tree to pick fruit.

A hand bag using parts of an old handbag.

I used zippers, metal rings and even the straps of an old bag to construct new one.I used black row silk as the outer material and deep purple satin as inner material.I sewed old green zipper into new bag and added a strip of cloth to cover the color.

I removed front side strap rings using a screw driver and fixed them to new bag.

Back side straps were sewn down.

Pictures of finished bag soon.
