Busy with Msc presentations.

These days are filled with project presentations for my master program. And my office is planning a quick release to deliver two new features to our clients. I am handling and implementing one of those features. So not much of embroidery going on. But I have plans for peacock embroidery. Sketches are completed but no progress further until end of this month.  The letter C in Brazilian dimensional flowers is almost finished. I soon post images of it. Until then these are from my home garden.

Pansy with detached blanket stitch

I get inspiration and ideas from blogs I follow. This is a image of pansy flowers I stitched for my new project which was inspired from RosalieWakefield-Millefiori post here http://rosaliewakefield-millefiori.blogspot.com/search?q=pansy&x=18&y=19. I thank all of them for such generous posts.

For this flower I used two threads of anchor thread. First filled all petals with blanket stitch then used detached blanket stitch to frame the petals.

I reversed colors for larger flower just to experiment color combination and got it wronged. But no worries.

Cross Stitched Red Rose

Cross stitch is  first of the many arts I learned from internet. I searched about it and patterns. This one took my imagination at once.

Original pattern had about 8-9 shades of red. But I only used 3 shades. Same for green thread. Anchor thread was used with cross stitch canvas.

I never knew about cross stitch canvas until I sow in on internet. This project was completed at 2nd year of my IT degree that means in 2006. These are roses from my home garden.

Pillow cover decorated using lazy daisy and bullion knot stitches.

I’m going to log about a pillow case I made about two or three years ago. This one has a flower assortment in the middle. Flowers are embroidered using lazy daisy and bullion knot stitches. Center of the flowers are filled with French knots. Leaves are satin stitch. This is a pillow case only to show but not to use according to my mother. She says when sleep on it our hair get stuck around bullion and French knots, so only to show :D.
 The full view….

 An opening bud…

The pillow case is finished with a beautiful trim.

Of course I tried to replicate these lovely flowers from my mother’s garden.

Embroidered lady in purple…

I am going to log about an embroidery project which I have finished long ago. This image was on a ladies paper and took my attention at once. That was done with ribbons and DMC thread. At that time I had no experience on ribbon embroidery so I turned to Anchor thread which I had with me. This is the finished look after framed.
Apologies for blurred and bad lighted pictures.

This is a close shot of the lady. The skirt was done using chain stitch in three different shades of purple. And the sleeve and blouse is stitched using long and short stitch, not perfect of course. All the flowers are French knots. At that time I didn’t know how to do French knots. I experimented with what I knew about French knots and came up with a working version. It didn’t work perfectly all the times.

This is the flowered head. Hair is long and short stitch. I used single stitch for eye lashes with single strand of black thread.

Falling flower vine using bullion knot.

I wanted to embroider some falling vine flowers. So in the weekend I went around the garden to look for yellow falling like flowers. These are what I found.

And this is what I embroidered.  Not really come close to the real ones because of my sewing skills. ;)

Of course our little kitty has to come out and play while I was out in the garden.
